School-Year Groups
We are excited to offer school-year therapy groups at all three Child Therapy Boston locations — Belmont, Needham, and Sudbury. The school year can bring increased academic, social, and emotional demands, and therapy groups provide a supportive space for kids and teens to build skills while navigating these challenges in real time.
Our school-year groups operate on an open-enrollment model, allowing families to join at any point as space allows. There is no contracted length of time for participation; group involvement is designed to be flexible and collaborative, so families can decide what feels right in partnership with their child and clinician. Groups run on a rolling basis from early September through the end of August, offering consistent support across the academic year and summer months.
Participants focus on skills such as social communication, emotional regulation, coping strategies, anxiety management, mindfulness, and self-confidence within a warm, engaging, and structured group setting. Skills learned in group are intended to translate into everyday life — supporting growth at school, at home, and in peer relationships.

If you have questions about group placement or would like help deciding which group is the best match, our team is always happy to connect.
Child Therapy Boston is a private pay therapy practice and does not accept any health insurance. All services are strictly out-of-pocket and full payment is required at the time of service. We will provide a monthly statement showing services and payments that can be used to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network coverage if you like.
Parents are welcome to use Health Savings Accounts or Flex Spending Accounts for payment. If you have questions regarding your out of network coverage, please be sure to call your insurance company as it varies between all plans.
